Is Sugarin' Breakfast served year round?
We only serve our sit-down Sugarin' Breakfast (daily) during Maple Sugar Season which begins in mid-February and runs to mid-April , then again during the Holidays from mid-November to mid-December (weekends only) . Our Farm Market, Deli and Bakery is open all year round for breakfast sandwiches, fresh pastries and coffee.
Can I make reservations?
No, sorry you cannot. We do however accept reservations for large parties of 20+ people. We also have a private room for large parties that holds 40.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express
Are you handicap accessible?
Yes we are fully handicap accessible for dining room, bathrooms, and evaporator room. Please be aware that it is a dirt parking lot and can get muddy in the spring and rain.
Do you have gluten-free menu items?
No, we do not. But we do serve eggs, home fries, bacon, and sausage.
Do you have sugar-free syrup?
Yes, we carry a sugar free syrup for those that would like it. We do not produce it but we have it available, please make sure to ask your waitress if you would like some.
Are there restrooms?
Yes, inside the dining room we have two.
Is there a wait for breakfast?
Yes, there can be up to an 1 hour or more wait during the height of sugaring season. We do have a wait list that you may see our hostess and we will take your name and find you when your table is ready.
What can we do while we wait?
We often have vendor tastings and demonstrations going on throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays. You may walk the grounds and look for tree taps, and of course check out the evaporator room to see how maple syrup is made. We do have a small play area to entertain the kids. We also have warm drinks and baked goods located in our new North Hadley Market that is attached to the Sugar Shack to enjoy while you wait.
Do you show how syrup is made?
Of course! Please come and visit the evaporator room and see the whole process up close and personal, you can even have a free sample of fresh made syrup!
Do you have tours?
We do offer tours to groups and schools. Please contact us if you would like to set up a time. The tours are offered Monday thru Friday.
Is there a waiting area?
There is a waiting room right when you walk in with limited seating as well as our evaporator room is very large. We will call you name out when your table is ready.
Do you boil sap every day?
We boil every Saturday and Sunday in March and during the week when we have collected enough sap. To make sure please call ahead of time at 413-585-8820.
Private parties?
Yes, during sugaring season we have a private pancake cabin that seats up to 40 people with a pellet stove for warmth were you will be served breakfast. We also offer parties for birthdays, family reunions and corporate parties in the warm weather at The Farm Tale. These may be reserved by calling the Sugar Shack for more information.
